THE HYMN “ALL GLORY LAUD, AND HONOR” has been used as a Palm Sunday processional for over 1200 years! Written by Theodulpus, Bishop of Orleans, France in 818 A.D., the hymn captures the Christian faith of those who remember Jesus’ ride into Jerusalem. Passers-by could hear the hymn from the open bars of his cell. The king, who unjustly imprisoned him, unknowingly led the first procession! Church leaders have used it as a Palm Sunday processional, both indoors and outdoors. EASTER BREAKFAST Easter is only a week away! Please plan on bringing your favorite coffee cake, muffins or other baked treats to share during the Easter Breakfast held after the Easter Celebration Service. Bring them to the basement prior to the service so they can be cut, plated, etc. We will be serving the usual baked egg omelet, layered jello and jiggler jelly beans, juices, and coffee. Please let Lucie know how many friends and family will be joining us so we can adequately prepare seating and food. Thank you! SCRIP NEWS A check for $200 was delivered from the SCRIP account to the Confirmand Fund last week. An increase in the number of orders has made that possible. Keep up the good work! If you've not yet placed an order for SCRIP, keep in mind that restaurants usually give higher percentages, but gas cards and other shopping needs (Meijer, Target, and Walmart) are always good choices. See Lucie for an order form or to place an order. Several low denomination cards are available right now and are highlighted on the order form in light green. Those cards are perfect for Teacher Appreciation gifts, graduations, or other gifting needs. They are available until May 24 if supplies last that long. HEAD START SCIENCE & MATH FAIR Our Head Start students will once again be participating in their annual Science & Math Fair on April 25. We would like to support them in this effort by making a contribution from Mt. Calvary. As was done in previous years, if you would like to make a contribution, you may write the check out to “Mt. Calvary” and our treasurer will write one check to Head Start for our total contributions. Last year we received a special acknowledgement given to groups or individuals who gave $500 or more. We hope to achieve that goal once again. Please note on your check "Science/Math Fair" and give it directly to Ron or place it in the offering plate. Thank you! DONATION Thank you to Diana Lundak for her donation to Mt. Calvary in memory of loved ones and friends. Lutheran Hour Ministries
