CAMP RESTORE DONATIONS
In January 2019, Camp Restore Detroit received donations from the following individuals and churches: Gary and Marcia Buchs from Colfax, Illinois; Good Shepherd Women’s Guild in Chesterfield, Michigan; and Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Mesa, California. We thank them for their tremendous support for this vital ministry.
It is not too late to sign up for a dessert donation. We will be hosting the “After Glow Luncheon” for the volunteers from all of the organizations who helped with “Gifts For All God’s Children.” The luncheon will take place here at Mt. Calvary this Friday, February 15 at 11:45 a.m. We are expecting 60 volunteers for lunch. Please contact Terrie in the church office if you can donate a dessert or help with parking lot security.
The following bonuses are available until February 15: Build-a-Bear (+2%), Caribou (+.75%), Del Taco (+1%), DSW (+3%), and Krispy Kreme (+2%). See Lucie Witte for an order form or to place an order. Orders placed today will be available next week for delivery.
COUNCIL OF LUTHERAN WOMEN LUNCHEON
Lucie Witte is collecting reservations for the Council of Lutheran Women Luncheon on Tuesday, March 19 at Burton Manor in Livonia where we will be honoring Elizabeth Parrish as our "Woman of the Year". The ticket cost is $29 and is payable by cash or check (payable to: MT. CALVARY). This year's featured speaker will be Gayle Sommerfeld, one of the founders of MOST Ministries (Mission Opportunities Short Term). Gayle has written a book about her experience with founding MOST, entitled "Beyond Sight". As this is not a CPH publication, advance orders will be necessary if you'd like to have a copy of her book. The cost will be $12.10 and you may pick up your book at the Luncheon. Let Lucie know if you're interested in ordering a copy of Gayle's book.
